Stokes of England is a Blacksmith company based in Shropshire, and we are delighted that they will be the main sponsors for the English Open Chainsaw Competition in 2017, providing some stunning trophies for the winners.
The current company was formed in 1996 by Chris and his father Joe, a master smith and farrier and consulted in the UN for some twenty seven years, writing four books on the subject.
Exporting to the USA initially, Chis set out to develop the home market, which rapidly expanded into restoration work on listed ironwork, using traditional techniques to more contemporary pieces involving a combination of metal working skill both ancient and modern.
Their client list includes Prince Charles, the Omani Royal family, Daniel Craig, Madonna and Paul Simon, to name but a few. Other examples of their work can be seen in restaurants throughout London.
They have also enjoyed sculptural work from time to time for private clients and local authorities.
And as if this wasn’t enough, they also run courses for those wishing to enter the world of blacksmithing, ranging from courses for the uninitiated to tailor made for the more skilled smith.
Stokes of England have been with Living Heritage Events for seven seasons now and we are looking forward to many more to come and delighted that they are sponsoring the English Open Chainsaw competition in 2017.
